I will retire in April 2023 and if I am in good health, I would like to continue working two days a week. Otherwise, I will be travelling a lot with our dog and doing all the work in and around my own house.

I am responsible for the maintenance and repair of all technical systems as well as the associated office work. A normal working day for me starts with a tour of the entire hotel. Then it’s on to the repairs. As we have a large and very well-equipped workshop, I try to do as much of the work and repairs myself as possible.

What I like about my job is the very varied and versatile tasks. After more than 30 years in this job, I know my way around electrical installations, plumbing/heating, woodwork, swimming pool water treatment, gardening, tiling, fireworks, etc. What I like most is the very friendly interaction with the management and employees.

I would definitely recommend my job to others. You should definitely be prepared to learn new things, always be available, even outside of actual working hours, and manual dexterity is certainly an advantage.

In my free time, I enjoy hiking and doing jobs in or around our house. I also enjoy spending time with friends or family in our holiday home at Arnensee.

You should come to Gstaad to work because you can work and live in a place where other people can only go on holiday for a short time.
